Ok i finally found out the details about the SG Idol Wannabe: BANANAMANaka Sheng's Cousin!
Just to inform everyone who has been asking so much abt him!!
This guy went on sg idol and made a fool outta himself in a watermelon mask but due to the banana-like hair he became known as Bananaman. Btw, his mask was handmade by his mom(and also my aunt) so let's give her a pat on the back for making such a fantastic mask!! *Cheers!*
Anywayz, SG Idol has 2 panels of judges. First being the mediacorp judges who will see whether or not this wannabe actually has the ability to sing or perform. Only upon passing this set of judges will they proceed to the 2nd panel which are as seen on tv! The thing is that Bananaman never made it to the 2nd panel!! And the whole "hoo haa" about Bananaman was just a publicity stunt! They actually filmed him going in to do his banana song, cut the portion of the judge saying: " You either take off your mask or get out of here!" and then patched the scene of him walking out of the room. The judge's comments were meant for someone else, not him so whatever u read i guess it's true! His mom was pretty upset that mediacorp had done something like this but the problem was that he had already signed a contract so there was nothing they could do! Btw, the portion where he stood up to "entertain" the audience, it was Gurmit Singh who told him to do so he didn't do it voluntary!! And yes, the part about him saying that he would only take off his mask if he got into the finals is true. So that's it for the Bananaman story!
