Back from Rainbow Falls!! A helluva trip!!
Woooo!!! I'm so glad to be home!!! Wahahahaha!! Can finally take a nice HOT SHOWER!!! It has been a long time since i enjoyed myself so much man!! I must say I TOTALLY ENJOYED the trip and I've no regrets at all!!!! So thanks to Dear & Des for making me go kekeke!! Thanks guys!! I've just finished dinner so now while I wait for my food to digest I shall tell my story hehehe!!

Met @ 1900hrs at Kranji MRT on the 24th of Sept 2004!! Must say sorry to my group mates who were there so early haha! I told Natalie not to be late and yet I was the one who was late wahahaha!! Oh yah better intro my group to you if not u guys blur blur dunno wat I'm talking about! I was from Group One!! My leader was Jarrod even though we didn't see him most of the time ahaha! (He too busy with the admin work and the leading of the entire group) Group I/C was Aveline!! Then the group consisted of Amos, Aizah(Yr3), Eve(Yr2), Natalie(Yr2), Shilei(Yr2), Peter, Rae (Yr3) and ME!! We finally set off at 2030 once everyone arrived!! First time I take bus to JB sia... dun say I sua ku hor...I seldom travel hence I blur blur.

Reached Sungei Lembing Town @ 0600hrs where we climbed up this hill called Bukit Panaroma!! Stairs stairs and more stairs!! It was like being stuck on the stairmaster man!! Climb non stop and no way to go but up!! I must say the view at the top was amazing and very nice too with the clouds below us!! Very beautiful!!! Sorry my photo taking skills not there yet so the photos u see dun complain horz!!!

Went down for breakfast at the town and had Yong Tau Foo!! Malaysian style! Hopped onto the lorry @ 1030hrs and it was a 1hr 15min BUMPY ride all the way up to the base of the falls!! Through out the journey up we had to siam this branch! Siam that branch! Machiam playing mario like that!! Duck! Left! Right! Jump! Hahaha!! Then it began to drizzle!! My butt was aching from all the bumping i took from the ride up to the falls!! We finally reached and after alighting from the lorry all 40 of us began our hike up to the falls!! SO EXCITING!! However, it began to RAIN!!!

As we began hiking up, the rain got heavier and heavier to the point where we almost wanted to turn back but we thought since we've already gone like halfway my as well finish it off and enjoy the magnificant view of the Falls! Anyway, the hike was a rather tedious and tiring one due to my load(more than 10kg) and 2ndly the slippery rocks and uneven ground!! You had to watch your footing if not you could easily have sprained ur ankle!! Stuff like fallen logs and steep slopes hindered our movement and so by the time we reached the bottom of the Falls, 2 hours had gone past!!

Lunch was a simple bread and tuna and the Lexus Cheese Crackers!! Thank God for the Cheese Crackers man!!! IT was simple delicious wahaha!! The rain stopped and the sun came out!! And then we began our climb to the Falls!! It was a final 200m ascent to the top and we climbed up together as a group!! We climbed and climbed and as we got closer to the Falls, I just couldn't wait to see what it was like! And the moment we got there, I was in awe!! It was the most beautiful sight I've seen and the water was simply so inviting that I couldn't wait and just jumped on into the water!! Amos, Desmond and myself waded across to the falls and the water was pounding down on us as we proceeded over! The feeling of the water flowing down on us was simply exhilarating!! It was like ecstasy!! We were high just being under the falls!!

We finally started the long trek down back to base camp at 1700hrs!! I was tired towards the end and my knees were like giving way!! The load on my back seemed to be 10x heavier and I had to keep watching my step cuz the rain had raised the water level and the rocks were very slippery!! I had to "lock" my ankle in place to prevent it from getting sprained!! The trek down broke up into 2 groups. The leading pack was a huge 20 mins in front as the later group was struggling to make their way down w/o the help of any guys in the front. So it was basically a girl group leading the way down and no one knew which direction to go! I'm not saying the girls are weak but rather without a guy to help them in the front it was very much slower!! Thankfully Dean backtracked and managed to lead us down to the location where the leading pack were waiting.

The moment I reached the leading pack I was so grateful and I regretted having not following them in the first place. I actually had an option of going off first but being the nice guy I am (haha), I decided to wait for my group to help them! Bad mistake in a way for me but at the same time I'm glad I stayed to help them. Anyway, I couldn't take the speed we were travelling at so I pushed myself to the front of the pack and followed Theophane and Jarrod back to our base camp location!! When I saw our first river crossing I was extremely grateful and thanked God for bringing me back safely without an leech bites!! We waited for about half and hour before the rest finally arrived an it was finally time to set up base camp!!

Leeches are bloody irritating creatures that suck your blood and if u attempt to pull them out, the wound would bleed profusely. Thankfully for me, I didn't get bitten by any!!! Hee hee~

With the weight of my bag off my shoulders I was so HAPPY!!! My shoulders, thighs and calves were aching the moment I took it off. Until now, it's still aching!! Arghhh...Pain!! I think my knee cap wearing off liaoz... =(

Dinner consisted of my favorite mee goreng!! Hahaha I think the guys a bit du lan me cuz I was a bit commanding during dinner time asking everyone to do this and do that! Sorry lah! When I cook I like things to be perfect mah!! Too used to having storemen do stuff for me kekeke!! The entire group took out all our food items and we finished whatever we could!!

After dinner, we had a little chit chat session and played games like 007 and heart attack! However, most of the entertainment that night came from "suaning" Peter. We played truth or dare and each and everyone of us took turns asking Peter a question. He was the butt of all the jokes that night!! Entertaining but I was feeling a little sorry for him and I must admit some of the stuff was a bit too much and it eventually hurt his feelings. I know cuz he came to me and told me about it. I didn't joke about him much but I did laugh along with the rest. I was a little mean to him too but not to the extent of hurting his feelings!! Sighz, feel so sorry for that guy but oh well.

By 0020hrs I was totally shagged out liaoz! Buay dong liaoz!! So I bo pianz go sleep but the weather was frrrrreeeezing cold man!! I had to wear track pants and my jacket to sleep!! Uncomfortable sleep for me cuz i'm too long liaoz...i had to curl up in order to sleep and I believed I kept kicking Amos wahahaha! Sorry bro!! I was afraid to kick Peter but I ended up kicking you instead!!

None of us had the energy to climb up to the Falls the next day and so none of us saw the Rainbow Falls. So early the next morning had a simple breakfast of milo, crackers, tuna and noodles! While we were waiting for the lorries to bring us all back to Sungei Lembing my group went to this small bridge near our base camp to take photos!! Being the vain me, I decided to take off my spectacles to take photo. Bad mistake man. I dropped it into the river below me!!! ARghhhh!! $400 gone!! OH NO!!! I know I've been telling this to everyone liaoz but bare with me a bit kekeke! The moment my specs dropped time froze man. It was like the Matrix. I could see the specs drop S L O W L Y and when I tried to reach for it time continued "playing" at normal speed and Woooooosh! There went my specs into the stream!!

BUT, I have very good friends! And I've God!! I prayed the moment my specs dropped in and I knew deep down God would help me and sure enough thanks to my bros Desmond and Amos they found it!! Must thank Peter too for changing into his sandals to help me find my spectacles!! If not for them, my mom would've skinned me alive!!! So as a way of saying thank you, I decided to treat them to dinner that night!!

More photos and some time later, the lorries were finally ready to leave the place and off we went! Back to Sungei Lembing!! Another hour of bumpiness and mario!! Managed to take 2 videos while on the lorry so I'll try to upload it somehow!!

Quick lunch in town and then a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY long trip to JB.... By the time we reached JB it was 2100hrs and we left Sungei Lembing @ 1315hrs!!! Sat on the coach till I became STONE.

When we finally reached JB, I went off with my group and had a sumptious meal as you can see from the pics!! Kekeke!! Dun drool horz!! We had butter crayfish, cerealised prawns, curry fish head, fried baby squid, bbq sambal squid, thai style chicken, baby kailan, sambal kangkong and beancurd on hotplate!! *Yum yum*

Left JB @ 2300hrs and by the time I reached back to Singapore it was already 2345hrs! Thankfully we managed to catch the "last train" and so I took a cab from JE back to home! However, it wasn't the last train and the group after mine managed to take train back too! So thank God for that! I reached home at 0025hrs in the morning feeling all shagged out!!!

So that's it for all the story telling!! No more girls? See, I keep my promise one k? *Wink wink*

This trip was a really good one and the ex-co did a good job of coordinating everything!!! I've seen a different side of Jarrod and find that he's actually a nice guy!! Everyone was so friendly and I really enjoyed my group!! The girls in my group were all babelicious and a good bunch to hang out with! Heng got YC come over to my group to liven us up!! He is a really funny guy!! Really enjoyed his company!! =) I think the activities are getting more and more fun and I can't wait for the next one to come!! Cheers to the ex-co for doing such a fantastic job!!

I said in my earlier posts that I didn't think I would enjoy myself but I was totally wrong and I did!! Anyway, my problem settled liaoz! So I'm so much happier now!! Things look for the better now and now it's time to shower and do my assignments!! In case you didn't know, I spent 1.6 hours typing this entry!!

Btw, the photos i'm still uploading halfway loh so please be patient k? The site that I uploaded needs you to sign on as a member in order to see the full picture. The site very ez to sign up and very fast so but it comes with a point system so you can only view limited number of full sized pics!
